New DGIWs Appointed

The First Grand Principal and Grand Master has appointed two new DGIWs.

Ex Comp Michael (Mick) Fardell as the new DGIW to replace V Ex Comp Don Johansson who has tendered his resignation as DGIW D3 effectively immediately.  Most Excellent Companion Peattie thanks V Ex Comp Don Johansson for his three years as  DGIW.  V Ex Comp Johansson who has been on leave for some months now feels the time is right to hand over his District over to another Companion.

Ex Comp Kendall Merrick has also been appointed as the new DGIW for District A3 replacing Ex Comp Mohamed Nahas who resigned due to work commitments.  District A3 has been capably looked after in the interim by Rt Ex Comp Keith Blades PGJ and the First Grand Principal & Grand Master expresses the gratitude of the Order to Rt Ex Comp Blades for his assistance.

Ex Comp’s Merrick and Fardell will be invested as DGIWs by the First Grand Principal and Grand Master at the Grand Re-Installation on 26th August 2017 and will take up duties immediately.

District D3 will conduct a District Meeting on 19th August commencing at 10am under the Charter of Chapter Oxley at the Laurieton Masonic Centre Tyling at 10am.  All three Chapters have volunteered to take part in the Red Cross Knights Degrees.  The Representative on this occasion will be the AGS, Rt Ex Comp Jack McNaughton.

Grand Re-Installation

The Grand Re-Installation will be held over the weekend of 25th/26th August 2017 at the Crown Plaza at Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley.  The main event is of course the Grand Re-Installation of Most Excellent Companion Peattie on the afternoon of Saturday 26th August 2017.

Friday night will see a reception open to all and on the Saturday Morning commencing at 10am will be a Grand Convocation to conduct the affairs of the Order Tyling at 10am.  The Re-Installation will commence in the afternoon followed by a Banquet.

For any member of the Order who has not seen a Grand Convocation or Grand Installation you are welcome to come to either or both at no cost.  You only need to register and and pay for the Friday reception and Saturday night banquet.

Grand Master and Other Heads of Orders to attend Grand Re-Installation

The Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother James Melville will be attending the Grand Re-Installation on 25th/26th August 2017 along with the Heads of many other Orders.

Brethren and Companions who are Grand Officers in the Craft and/or these Orders are welcome to join the entry at the appropriate time and witness the Grand Re-Installation which is open to both Masons and non-masons.

Buy-a-Bale

The response by individuals and Chapters to the First Grand Principal and Grand Masters appeal has been outstanding.  Most Excellent Companion Peattie has taken every opportunity to congratulate Mark and Royal Arch Masons for their generosity, but these are not the only ones to see this as a worthwhile cause.

The Mark and Royal Arch of Victoria have each made a contribution with our greatest contribution coming from the RFBI.  Most Masons probably only see the RFBI active in providing aged care but there is much more to this Masonic group, whose whole focus is on benevolence.  The RFBI do far more in our community than simply assist the aged in accommodation.

The First Grand Principal and Grand Master would encourage all Chapters to issue an invitation to the newly appointed RFBI Representative to come to their Chapters and explain to them the great work of what is the oldest benevolent institution in this jurisdiction.

A cheque for Buy-a-Bale will be presented at the Grand Re-Installation to the organisation.
